WOW! Congratulations to Sarah & Matt! They had the most beautiful, fun, and just plain EPIC wedding day this weekend! These two found me all the way from Boston MA thanks to the engagement session I did at their incredible venue a while back. They are both avid golfers and fell head over heels for the majestic Streamsong Resort, and who could blame them! They were absolutely thrilled to find the perfect location for their intimate destination wedding and they would be among the very fist couples to enjoy it!
Everything was incredible. The service, the weather, attention to detail, food, wine, and SMILES! I loved having the chance to connect with almost everyone present. Only their respective best friends and family were in attendance. Having just the awesome maid of honor Megan in the room when Sarah got into her gown was so special. And wow that gown!! Sarah has impeccable taste and had her stunning tea length wedding dress custom made at the House of Mooshki, London brought out her inner Grace Kelly. OSTRICH FEATHERS PEOPLE! I was swooning. All of Sarah’s details were so lovely. I especially loved her little blue ceramic elephant that she tucked in her gorgeous bouquet! Gayle of Florist Fire nailed it with the florals by the way! Anemones, peonies, garden roses, ranunculus, dusty miller, and orchids……swooooooning.
When it came time for the first look Matt was grinning ear to ear. Having the terrain of Streamsong was a photographers dream come true! I loved being up on a HILL, a hill, in Florida! Being able to have the greens, water, and the club house off in the distance was magical. After lots of hugs and dress twirls we had time for some portraits at their favorite tee. They walked right past a 6 foot gator on their way to the green over the bridge and neither of us noticed it until they came back! So cool!
Oh man the I do’s. I choke up every time. By the time this huge moment comes I feel so connected to my couples and their love story. The intensity of love and joy is so amazing for me, I can only image what emotions they are going through. What made this moment even more amazing was the bagpiper chiming in from above! This was an extra special surprise for their family and they were so impressed. After beautiful vows it was time to kiss they bride and I have never seen so many excited expressions wash over anyone so fast! Priceless.
After the ceremony we had perfect timing for some more portraits at sunset. Gahhh Streamsong is a dream come true! Then is was time to join everyone for yummy treats and drinks on the veranda before a stellar 4 course dinner. I loved that they had one big communal table. The toasts were so heart felt and full of laughter and even tears. I think we hugged goodbye about 10 times, I didn’t want to leave! I really wish these two were local! But now I have dear friends to visit in Boston.
On my way out I was stunned to look up at a million stars. It was such a clean and crips day that the sky was perfectly sharp. And being so remote allowed for almost zero light pollution. you could have golfed by the crescent moonlight! Of course I had to grab a few long exposures as a grand finale.
CONGRATULATIONS again to the new Mr. & Mrs. Giddings! I hope you win at least one game this week Matt 🙂
