Barefoot & Boho Tropical Wedding || PCI St. Pete Beach

Are you guys even ready for this?! Mackenzie & Eugene had an incredible wedding day between Christmas and NYE at the Post Card Inn on the beach. The day was beyond perfect in every aspect. The weather was just the right amount of cool and the cloud cover was as if the world was lit by a soft box, what a dream! Oh and of course the sun peeked out right as Mackenzie walked down the aisle and wow us all with a spectacular sunset! Their goal was to have a wedding for their 250 friends and family that felt like they were all in Hawaii, and boy did they nail it!

These two are just so much FUN! Definitely an AHP couple. They were all about COLOR, FUN, and going against tradition. I loved that they were barefoot the entire day and that they included so many fun and sentimental details. To start Mackenzie made beautiful necklaces for all of her bridesmaids (10!) and both moms. Then the first thing she told me when I arrived was that Eugene was on his way back from the tattoo parlor! He got the date tattooed on his write in morse code! She now has one to match on her ankle, how cool! There’s also an incredible story behind their wedding bands. Eugene is made from a whiskey aging barrel and he CUT THE DIAMONDS ON HER BAND HIMSELF! WHAT?

Can we talk about their effortless style for a minute too? Mackenzie had two beautiful 5, yes 5 piece dresses. Her Grace Loves Lace look for the ceremony was an ethereal lacey skirt with matching tube top and detached sleeves. Gimme all the sleeves! She had a similar dress for the reception that was lighter and with a hot slit for some leg. Her girls flanked her in the coolest blush and greenery patterned maxi dresses that they will 1,000% wear again! I loved that the fabric was the same but everyone had a different structure and style. Add some super model wind in that gorgeous light with their INSANE bouquets and you have one very happy photographer!

Now we must talk about 2 Birds! They nailed it. Nailed it. Nailed it. Nailed it. The pink pineapples, greenery, orchids, and giant protea were to die for. You also can’t forget the bridal flower crown. I especially loved the way they adorned the chairs at the end of the head table too! Eugene and his groomsmen all sported gorgeous leis that went perfectly with their linen duds, but those were actually lovingly made by Mackenzies MOM! Apparently her hands were dyed green for days after. I am blown away, they came out stunning!  And what a good idea it was to put shell leis on all of the chairs for all of the honored guests?

Lastly, the reception was such a party! I mean when you find your seat with a shot of tequila as for an escort card I would expect nothing less! Mackenzie and Eugene met when they are each coaching volley ball at UF and they had everyone is hysterics when they both mentioned their fateful first meeting in their vows. Apparently Mackenzie spotted her soulmate out one night in a Ray cap, walked directly across the bar to snatch it off of his head and tell him that why were her team as she went back to her friends. BAD ASS! They both are back in the Bay now still living that volleyball obsessed life. When I saw an entire custom boat filled with custom volley balls I was not surprised but boy was I impressed! They had awesome details galore including the fastest disappearing and most beautiful table of desserts by Hands on Sweets! Oh and that little coconut cake…it ended up ALL over the two of them. I knew it! I could tell Eugene was not going to just cut that thing, but I was totally unprepared for him to take the entire thing and smoosh it in his brides smiling face! I actually missed the impact he was so fast though! Everyone was thoroughly entertained and not the least bit surprised they were having so much fun. They also attempted to send off chinese lanterns by the breezy beach….they did get a few to lift off so it was a success!

I hope you enjoy all of these highlights and that they bring you a shred of the joy I had while being there capturing it. Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Tichenor! Legend status!

Xo.
