Colorful Micro Wedding || Maitland Arts Center

How amazing is this?! I’m going to try and be cool and use the new term Micro Wedding instead of Elopement for this amazing day. Have you heard of this term yet? I’m sure you have been seeing the trend of small, very intimate weddings. I think its a great new term! Elopements are traditionally done by surprise with just the couple taking off to get hitched. Honestly, I have only ever photographed one actual elopement! They stayed local and only the bride’s son knew and was invited. They later broke the news with the photos to the rest of their friends and family (so cool!). Otherwise, I have photographed plenty of stunning weddings with as few as 3 people celebrating. These have all been planned out with care and the choices made with the most intention. I’m obsessed with them. Cutting down to just a small group of immediate family and a maybe a few friends really opens the doors of possibilities. This amazing wedding for instance! Katie and Patrick came all the way from Alabama to celebrate their marriage in their favorite city!

These Disney lovers and their family celebrated in style. I am obsessed with Katie’s colorful hair and her make up ROCKED! Plus she chose an incredible Hailey Page gown and did you see their incredible rings! STAHP! We were a match made in heaven on taste and interests alone.

Often I meet my couples on the day of! I love that Florida attracts people from far and wide. For me, it’s such a thrill actually to finally meet and be immediately part of such an important day. Hanging with Katie and her crew before heading to the arts center was so special for me. I LOVED how stinking adorable her dad and nephew were together! It had me tearing up and beaming. Apparently they are inseparable best friends and it showed. SO MUCH CUTE! Also his little toddler ankles in his suit! AHH! Oh and then after Katie was ready in her gown we arranged a first look with dad. Wow, cue the tears. It was so special. You could feel his pride and happiness!

Fun fact: I have always always always wanted to photograph at the Maitland Arts Center! I couldn’t have asked for a better day or couple to finally have my wish. I just love the all of the details and creative spaces. It was the perfect space for these two to exchange their vows. The had a violinist for the occasion and their music choice was impeccable. I believe Katie came down he aisle to her groom with the Jurassic park some playing! Many Disney classics were int here too, oh my heart!

Their ceremony was sweet and sincere, everyone cried during their personal vows. The breeze came in perfectly to play with her dress and the big kiss at the end was stunning!

We had planned our time after the ceremony perfectly around photos WOO! We had almost 2 hours to spend with everyone before they rode off into the sunset for dinner. I’m in love with all of the portraits we made and I am just so happy for them! MVP goes to her brother in law for the best veil toss too!

Please enjoy these highlights and feel free to be inspired to go after the exact kind of wedding you are dreaming of!
